THANK GOD IT'S MARCH!

Alright, the dark month of minimal sports is gone, tine to let march madness begin.

and already we got people calling foul on whose in and whose out, and rightfully so since teams like VTech got left out, letting smaller teams who would normally miss the cut get a break in the selection process. but alas that is drama i dont want to get into detail about.

http://games.espn.go.com/tcmen/en/entry?entryID=513653

this thursday the bracket period begins and we shall watch our brackets slowly go up in flames as our final four picks lose in the second round.

they call it madness for a reason...

Where The Hell Is The Lynx?

Yeah, I havent been around for a while, I'm still gonna update, most notably during March Madness.
on march 13th we find out who goes to the dance and who gets sent back to his base crying like a baby, I will of course be watching the mens bracket but I also hope to check out the women's side too. and when  it comes time to make our brackets, im going head to head with my mom on a bet which has yet to be decided!

In washington we got 4 groups bitching over the other: the GOP, Democrats, the NFL, and the NFLPA.

guess which one has a 3rd party to keep there talks in line?

this move to hire an arbiter for CBA talks is rather encouraging, showing that in spite of the rhetoric being spewed every wich way they are actually TRYING to get somthing done, but what i dont get is the comish's mar 4th deadline, I googled it and I didnt find anything outstanding. so tell us mr. Goodell what happens if it doesnt get done on the 4th of march?

tell us.

Superbowl XLV

I know it has been a while but I have an all superbowl post that I hope makes up for it.

First bit of news was that temporary seating they put in was REALLY temporary. Those who were gonna sit all the way up there got triple there money back or got free tickets to the next superbowl. Then pre kick festivities took place with a horrid performance by Christina Aguilera doing the national anthem. The guys they get for the nat. anthem during the MLB world series and NHL regular season were better.

At the cointoss we bust the myth that tails never fails. Pitt goes tails and it comes up heads giving first option to GB who opts to kick in the first half.

1st Quarter

We start with the usual; kicker kicks ball, someone catches ball, get tackled short of 10 yards. About 3 plays after that Pitt fumbles the ball for green bay to cash in for 7 points. On the ensuing kick off Pitt gets a illegal block penalty forcing them to start the drive 7 yards away from a safety, do we see a safety? No... We see another interception qckly become a pick 6 (by the way we are only 24 seconds into the first quarter). The rest of the 1st is basic punt war stuff.

2nd Quarter

Some time afterward we have our first injury in the form of Donald Driver who injured a quad muscle in an earlier game rolling his left ankle, he did not return. Later on Big Ben throws another interception which gets GB a third TD (that's 3 straight INTs so far). Later on GB gets another injury, Sam shields injures his shoulder. Then Woodson injures cis collar bone (YEOW!) and he is done! This drive by PITT actualy gets them a TD for once. Also somewhere in that half PITT got a FG.
10 - 21 green bay leads at the half

Oh and black eyed peas did something... wasn't really paying attention.

3rd Quarter

Not much to see, only a PITT TD and a punting war.

4th Quarter

As soon as we start the final stretch PITT fumbles the ball and GB recovers, and Ben isn't to blame for this one. What does GB do with this turnover? (you guessed it!) ANOTHER TOUTCHDOWN!!!
It's now PITT 17 - 28 GB and on the later drive by PITT gets themselves a much needed TD AND a 2pt conversion. It's now 25 - 28 Green Bay late in the 4th. GB QB Aaron Rodgers with one of his laser guided passes for 40+ yards, they don't get the TD so they opt for the FG.
it's now a 6 point game and PITT needs a TD and clean point after kick to win, they don't pull it off, an incomplete pass on 4th down seals each teams fate. Now superbowl mvp Aaron Rodgers Ends the 14 year drought in packer country.

Lesson learned: It don't matter where you put Aaron Rogers, he will throw "friggen lazers" to his receivers.

see ya next season... if there is one.

Shirley J Creamy Chicken Noodle

My mom whipped this up last night and the family loved it, It is made with a sauce mixes by Shirley J. Ingredients are in bold.

1.  Cook 1-2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts and cut into cubes. Set aside.

2.  In large stock pot, boil the following in 3-4 cups of water with 1 tsp. Shirley J Chicken bouillon, until tender:

3-4 stalks celery, thickly sliced
3-4 carrots, thinly sliced

3.  Meanwhile, in a smaller stock pot, make up 1 batch of Shirley J Universal Sauce with 1/4 White Cheddar Sauce added.   I also use the Chicken Bouillon in the sauce mixture.

4.  When veggies are tender, add 3-4 cups of uncooked egg noodles and cook until slightly tender.  The water will look low and you can add a little more water to barely cover the noodles.

5.  When the noodles are ready, dump the sauce mix into the noodles.

The end result is a rich creamy soup that goes well with a full dinner. To purchase Shirley J sauces, contact Georgia at Georgia@cookingEZ.com

WILDCARD BITCHES!

I can't get enough of that episode XD

WildCard week in the NFL is upon us this coming weekend.

Saturday Jan. 8th

  • New Orleans Saints @ Seattle Seahawks
  • NY Jets @ Indianapolis Colts
Sunday Jan. 9th

  • Baltimore Ravens @ Kansas City Chiefs
  • Green Bay Packers @ Philadelphia Eagles
LETS GET STARTED!

SATURDAY

NEW ORLEANS SAINTS vs. SEATTLE SEAHAWKS
4:30 pm est. NBC

This match should be an easy one for New Orleans, between the two in this matchup new orleans has gotten the most yards, and allowed the fewest opposing yards,  but the scenario of the Seahawks  pulling somthing out of there ass and eliminating the saints in this game is one i cant stop thinking about, this is an unpredictable season and the reacton of Seattle beating New Orleans would be somthing to see But I doubt that will happen.

Saints win 20 -13 in regulation

NEW YORK JETS vs. INDIANAPOLIS COLTS
8:00 pm est. NBC

This one can go either way but im liking the cardiac kings in this one. the Colts have a defense ranked 20, the jets are 3rd. But on the other hand then Colts have a 4th ranked offence where as the Jets have an 11th ranked offence, then you got the non statistical factor that the jets have: Cardiac Kings! in most of there regular seasn wins, they get the game winning points late in the final quarter or in OT, Expect a close game.

Jets win 17 - 10 in overtime

SUNDAY

BALTIMORE RAVENS vs. KANSAS CITY CHIEFS
1:00 pm est. CBS

The Baltimore franchise gives little disappointment to its fans, Analysts have the Ravens over the Chiefs and the stats back up the argument.... and thats all I got, I never got the pleasure of watching the ravens play on local tv, when ever they were on I was occupied with something else. sorry.

Ravens win 21 - 14 in regulation

GREEN BAY PACKERS vs. PHILADELPHIA EAGLES
4:30 pm est. FOX

I'm gonna take the time to watch this matchup, looking to be a virtual coinflip in chilly Philly. I see Vick starting this match and staying in the game, giving green bay a challenge through the 3rd quarter, but i doubt it will be enough. Green Bay is a legit threat in the playoffs but I don't have them or the Eagles in the superbowl.

Packers win 23 - 20 in regulation

now to sip some cocoa by the fire.
